Title: Revealing the boundaries of Feline Hypertension
Medium: Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Illustrator
Intended use: February Cover of Veterinary Medicine, Editorial illustration for
"Diagnosing systemic hypertension in dogs and cats" a report
by Kirsten L. Cooke, DVM, DACVIM and Patti S. Snyder, DVM, MS, DACVIM
Art Director: Alison Fulton
Description: One reoccurring point of the article was the importance of regularly assessing
systemic blood pressure. One benefit to this as mentioned is the further
development of a more refined division between normal and abnormal blood
pressures. To illustrate this, while the cat's blood pressure is being
measured, it's removing layers of cloth that metaphorically cloud
our understanding of normal versus abnormal blood pressure. Our understanding
of these categories of blood pressure is being represented by slightly
hazy diagrams portraying guidelines for interpreting blood pressure. Some
key words are visible such as pressure, age, systolic and diastolic.
We find veterinary subject matter extremely interesting and thoroughly enjoyed
this project.
